staying connected while travelling

introduction

I have been traveling frequently and moving between countries often. However, I still want to stay connected during my travels, and sometimes, I even need to stay connected. While wifi hotspots are usually readily available, there are times when it can be difficult to find them. Moreover, I am always concerned about the security and privacy risks associated with using public wifi hotspots. As a result, I prefer to use mobile data. Nevertheless, roaming charges can be quite expensive, particularly when traveling to Europe from the US, Asia or vice versa.

To find a solution to this issue, I conducted extensive research, read numerous reviews, and watched several Youtube videos, but I found limited reliable options. Therefore, I decided to share my findings with you below, along with my personal assessment from different perspectives. It is important to note that this post is not sponsored by anyone, and I do not stand to benefit from any of the recommendations.

I typically rely on Airalo for my mobile data needs. I use DENT as backup solution.

DENT allows me to purchase several gigabytes on their marketplace at more affordable prices compared to other options such as Airalo or Nomad. I have found this especially useful when traveling in regions close to multiple borders, such as the European Alps, so I don’t have to reinstall eSIM all the time.

Additionally, when my data is about to expire and I am unable to use it, I can simply sell it on the platform.
